Taking the title of one of the best ski resorts in France, there is no surprise that Val d’Isere is popular among all levels of skiers. But life in Val d’Isere isn’t all about the slopes. The resort is extremely popular among high-end visitors, due to its attractive premium shopping, Michelin star restaurants, and electric nightlife.

The slopes of Val d’Isere sit between 1850m and 3455m – allowing for excellent, snow-sure skiing throughout the entire ski season. Over 300km of slopes offer a range of grades suitable for all skiing abilities. Easy access to the nearby village of Tignes allows skiers and snowboarders to enjoy high-altitude glacier skiing – promising fantastic views of the surrounding landscape.

With the famous glacier skiing possible through the summer months, there is no reason to put your skis away just yet. However, the warmer weather brings with it the opportunity for hiking and mountain biking in some of the French Alps’ most beautiful areas.

By Air
Val d’Isère is well-served by several nearby airports. Chambéry Airport is the closest at approximately 1 hour 55 minutes by car. Geneva, Lyon, and Grenoble airports are all around 3 hours away and offer a wide range of international flights. For private aviation, Val d’Isère is also accessible via a heliport located in La Daille.

By Road
The resort is easily reached by well-maintained alpine roads, with scenic routes leading up through the Tarentaise Valley.

By Train
The nearest train station is Bourg-Saint-Maurice, around 40 minutes from Val d’Isère by road. High-speed train services connect Bourg-Saint-Maurice with major cities, including Paris and Lyon, with onward transfers available by bus or taxi.
