During the summer months Zermatt transforms offers an endless array of sports and activities to take part in. The melting snow reveals luscious green meadows and over 400km of marked hiking trails to take you to mountains, lakes and glaciers. Skiing is also possible throughout the summer and serviced by 6 lifts and 21km of pistes.

Getting to Zermatt, Switzerland

At the foot of the iconic Matterhorn, Zermatt is one of Switzerland’s most celebrated mountain resorts, combining car-free charm with excellent accessibility from across Europe by air, road (parking in Täsch), and rail.

By Air
The nearest airports to Zermatt are Sion (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes by car and train), Geneva (approx. 3 hours 30 minutes), and Zurich (approx. 3 hours 15 minutes). All provide convenient access, with private transfers and onward train connections available. Helicopter transfers to nearby heliports are also an option for private aviation.

By Road
Zermatt is a car-free resort, with visitor vehicles required to park in Täsch, located about 5 km from the village. From Täsch, guests can take a shuttle train or taxi transfer directly to Zermatt.

By Train
Zermatt is accessible via a scenic train journey from Visp or Brig, where mainline services from Geneva, Zurich, and other Swiss cities connect to the Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn. The final leg of the journey takes you through the mountains directly into Zermatt’s charming centre.
